DIY Mini-Notebook (FROM A CEREAL BOX!)

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon this very cool blog, Creme de la Craft. The lady who runs the blog crafts things from everyday objects that you can find around the house! And when I say everyday things I do mean every day things. For example, she made an accordion picture frame out of DVD cases and she made this stellar necklace out of pistachio shells. Yes, you read right. PISTACHIO. SHELLS. Needless to say I added Creme de la Craft to my Google Reader right then and there.

The thing that really caught my eye though was her tutorial on how to make a simple mini-notebook from a cereal box!! Bookish crafts make me happy and the fact that this craft was a cinch to make made me even happier! Below I’ve created a photo collage to showcase my work.

Her instructions call for embroidery floss, but I didn’t have so I substituted kite string. There is only one suggestion I have and that is to use either a thimble or sewing machine (which I am not even sure that would work, but you could try!). My fingers were bleeding from trying to get the needle to push through the cardboard and paper.! Anyway, enough of my chit-chat, take a look at the photos. (Click the image to view the photo on a larger scale)

Sadly, while I was in the process of moving, I misplaced it. But this craft is so simple and easy that it can be made in under an hour so once I finish my current box of cereal, you can bet I will be making another one of these babies!

What do you think? Are you going to try this craft out?

Happy Crafting,

Jayla
